The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia, Inc. (CIC-DC) was formed in
November, 2001 and represents the corporate and association community interested in
operating captive insurance companies in the District of Columbia, one of America's newest
domiciles for captives. CIC-DC was formed to advance the District of Columbia's presence
in the captive marketplace, especially as it relates to professional and industry trade
associations by educating the public about the role of captives through educational
programs and conferences. CIC-DC provides a forum to review legislation, regulations and
other government action which affects the interests of its members.

Mission Statement
The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia, Inc. (CIC-DC) was formed in
November 2001. The mission of CIC-DC is to foster and promote the formation and growth of
captive insurance programs for associations within the District of Columbia.
CIC-DC accomplishes its mission by educating the public about the role of captives;
facilitates educational programs and conferences; informs its members of legislation,
regulations and other government action, whether adopted or proposed, of interest to its
members; and provides a forum to review governmental actions and to represent the
interests of its members with respect to legislation, regulations, and other governmental
action.
